Agile Analog has joined the Intel Foundry Services (IFS) Accelerator IP Alliance Program, a move that will help drive forward semiconductor design innovation.
IFS is a foundry program designed to help fabless companies in North America and Europe with high-end design services that can currently only be found in Asia.
Agile Analog is a maker of analog intellectual property (IP) and will include its IP product portfolio available in the IFS ecosystem. The IP Alliance Program gives designers access to high-quality IP and support design requirements with optimizing key elements such as performance and power.
The company’s portfolio includes IP such as power management, data conversion and always-on circuitry.
IFS has already signed up a number of heavyweight vendors for foundry manufacturing such as MediaTek. Last year, Intel announced it would build chips for Qualcomm and Amazon as it looks to expand U.S. domestic semiconductor manufacturing to compete against the likes of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Samsung Electronics.
Intel is rapidly expanding its IFS platform with new fabs being constructed at its Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona, as well as two new fabs being constructed in Licking County, Ohio, and new facilities in Germany.
Additionally, Intel Corp. said in February that it would acquire pure-play foundry Tower Semiconductor for $5.4 billion to expand its global footprint and technology portfolio for IFS.
