Siemens’ Calibre tool certified for Intel’s foundry services

14 July 2023

Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Calibre semiconductor design verification tool has been fully certified for Intel’s 16 nm process.

This means the following software has been certified for the Intel 16 process:

  • Calibre nmDRC software
  • Calibre YieldEnhancer software
  • Calibre PERC software
  • Calibre nmLVS software

The certification means Intel Foundry Services (IFS) customers can use the electronic design automation (EDA) tools for FinFET next generation designs. The 16 nm process offers RF and analog capabilities as well making it useful for storage controller, RF, millimeter wave, defense, aerospace, government and consumer applications.

Siemens is a founding member of IFS’ accelerator EDA alliance focused on an ecosystem for the design and fabrication of system-on-chips manufactured on Intel’s semiconductor process technology. Under the program, Siemens and EDA customers can access IFS process and packaging technologies to find the best tools needed with Intel’s manufacturing capabilities.

“With the increasing importance of semiconductors in the global economy, Intel’s commitment to the foundry market through IFS is an important source of new innovative capacity for advanced products,” said Michael Buehler-Garcia, vice president of Calibre Design Solutions product management for Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Siemens EDA is pleased to extend its longstanding relationship with Intel by providing mutual customers an additional IFS process to choose from.”
