Intel Corp. recently signed a definitive agreement to buy more than 1,400 patents and patent applications from The Gores Group.
The Gores Group grabbed the patents in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Powerwave Technologies. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
The patents relate to telecommunications infrastructure products such as antennas and base stations. Specifically, the 1,400 patent technologies include tower mounted amplifiers, antenna structures, power amplifier configurations, crest factor reduction and digital pre-distortion circuitry.
