While OLED technologies have been the dominant television technology for the past five years, miniLEDs are catching up fast.
According to market research firm DSCC, miniLED TVs captured a more than 50% share of both units and revenues in the super premium category.
During the upcoming CES 2025 tradeshow, miniLED TVs will continue to capture attention in the consumer electronics market as numerous vendors will be showcasing the latest TVs.
While none of this is guaranteed, it is likely that the following televisions will debut at the world’s largest consumer tradeshow.
LG Electronics
LG has long been an innovator of TVs. Reports indicate that the Korean electronics giant will debut the G5 and C5 OLED TVs at CES 2025. Both televisions will be virtually identical, but the G5 will use an anti-reflective coating using micro lens array (MLA) panels, whereas the C5 will have a glossier display.
LG already announced it would launch its 88 inch LG signature OLED 8K TV, which is powered by more than 132 million individually controlled subpixel dimming zones. LG was honored with a CES Innovation Award for the TV.
Samsung Electronics
Meanwhile, Samsung, the other Korean electronics giant, will also be debuting new TVs at CES 2025.
According to reports, Samsung’s plans include the usual launch of the Neo QLED TV in 4K and 8K resolution as well as 4K resolution OLED TVs.
The Neo QLED TV will include the following models:
- QN90F: 43 inch, 50 inch, 55 inch, 65 inch, 75 inch, 85 inch, 98 inch
- QN95F: 55 inch, 65 inch, 75 inch, 85 inch
While the 4K OLED TV models will include:
- S85F: 55 inch, 65 inch, 77 inch
- S90F: 48 inch, 55 inch, 65 inch, 77 inch, 83 inch
- S95F: 55 inch, 65 inch, 77 inch, 83 inch
Hisense
Chinese consumer electronics vendor Hisense has been making waves at CES over the past few years and it plans to unveil its 100UX miniLED TV at this year's show.

Sylvox
Outdoor consumer vendor Sylvox is upgrading its brand to reflect what it calls the growing consumer demand for outdoor entertainment solutions.
Sylvox produces outdoor televisions as well as TVs for the kitchen of RVs and other places where the consumer devices need to be more rugged and able to withstand the elements compared to regular in-home TVs.
The company will unveil its latest outdoor 4K Ultra HD TVs, which will include high-end visuals, weatherproof durability and smart functionality for outdoor entertainment. It will also be showcasing its other televisions designed for RVs, the bathroom and other harsh environments for electronics.
Sony
Sony is set to hold a press conference the day before CES 2025 officially opens. During the conference, the company will likely introduce its Bravia 10. While it won’t be an official launch — Sony tends to launch in March — it will be the first look at its flagship model.
For now, it is unclear if the model will be a miniLED or if it will remain an OLED model?
TCL
The other leading Chinese brand, TCL, will also be at CES 2025 to introduce its new QD-mini-LED technologies that will be used for anything from in-car displays to smartphones and tablets to smart watches, TVs and projectors. This is not surprising as TCL is known as the godfather of miniLED technology, which it pioneered in 2019.
While TCL is mum on its plans until its press conference, which will be held the day before the show starts on Jan. 6, 2025, it is likely this miniLED technology will power its flagship brands of consumer electronics, particularly its TVs.
Prototypes
At CES 2025 there are always prototypes of, well, everything. The latest TVs are no different.
Prototypes this year will focus mostly on foldable OLED TVs, TVs for new environments or TVs capable of rotating 180-degrees and that can be hidden in a base to allow for more aesthetic appearances.
CES 2025 takes place Jan. 7-10, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
