Residential home security has evolved from simple cameras in the home to some of the most sophisticated, easy-to-install equipment, like Ring cameras, that can record and monitor the home as well as communicate with anyone outside a homeowner’s door.
IC Realtime is looking to advance the camera capability even further with its Bunker smart residential surveillance and security platform. Built on Nvidia’s Jetson edge computing technology, Bunker can process visual information, identify activity from established patterns and learn recurring rhythms of a specific home over time.
As AI is taking over the computing world, the smart home is a natural progression as the next sector where AI can allow home security to move beyond passive recording and motion tracking to establish active intelligence for homeowners, IC Realtime said.
Why it is needed
According to IC Realtime citing the FBI, more than 5.2 million property crimes occurred in the U.S. in 2025. While down from previous years, burglary is maybe the top concern for homeowners, which has led to the growth in video cameras and security systems in households.
IC Realtime argued that security today is about more than just capturing footage — it's about using intelligence to keep a property secure. Bunker is a continuously learning property system that uses every motion event equally and develops context around the people, movement, timing and other items to develop a pattern in the home.
“On a large property, there is activity throughout the day, and a traditional system can treat all of it as equally important,” said Matt Sailor, CEO of IC Realtime. “Homeowners do not need more notifications or hours of footage to review. They need intelligence that understands the difference between normal activity and something that deserves their attention.”
The core AI functions are generated from the Nvidia Jetson technology, which in home security enables:

- Unified multi-camera awareness
Additionally, Bunker is a device-agnostic architecture that works with third-party cameras and other connected property devices. This allows smart home vendors to design around a property’s needs and does not lock homeowners into a specific ecosystem, IC Realtime said.
