Video: The 10-second Toothbrush

10 July 2017

Feel like two minutes is far too much time out of your day to bother with brushing your teeth?

Then Amabrush is the gadget for you as it promises to clean your teeth in about 10 seconds. The gadget is fully automatic, requiring only a press of a button to clean teeth. It even has different vibration modes for gum massage, whitening and burst mode (although it isn't clear why a burst mode would be useful in teeth brushing).

Amabrush has bristles that are at a 45-degree angle against the gum line and uses light, subtle vibrations to move the bristles back and forth. The company says the goal is to make tooth brushing less annoying and a time saver for when you are too tired to do the daily process.

Here’s how it works: You plop the gadget in your mouth and push a button. You wait for 10 seconds and spit and rinse. Wash out the device and it is good to go for the next cleaning.

However, there is one slight issue—it comes with its own toothpaste. The toothpaste capsules are placed into the hand piece of the Amabrush and it then automatically deposits the right amount into the brush. One capsule works for about a month and costs about $3.50. Don’t worry, it has been approved by the FDA and comes in a few varieties for different users.

While not as entertaining as a gaming toothbrush, the makers believe it will save time, money and make the hassle of doing a daily chore more bearable.

The Amabrush is currently on Kickstarter where it has already met its goal, but you can still get in on the crowd-funding campaign by visiting: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1071673943/amabrush-worlds-first-automatic-toothbrush.
