It looks like a modern wall-mounted light switch, but Flic’s Duo switch can be used to interact with the smart home in a variety of ways including through customized gestures.
The Flic Duo can be placed on a wall or held in a hand with gesture control to automate music, lighting scenes, blinds and more in the home.
With motions like swipes and rotations combined with button presses, users can configure the device for more than 30 commands within the smart home. It can sit flush on walls with a magnetic mount, or it can be hand carried.
The device also adapts to its location. For light controls it can be wall mounted but when carried, it can switch to music.
Additionally, the device could find a use in B2B applications for elderly care or for worker safety or it can be used as a personal alarm button with two escalation levels. It is also capable of fall detection, which could play a role in senior facilities or warehouse safety.
