Home automation panel turns any housing smart

Smart home vendor Brilliant has launched a plug-in version of its control panels that allows homeowners, renters or retailers to transform any house or building into a smart one.

The install-it anywhere plug-in has a touchscreen-based control and automation system that allows for control over other smart home devices like smart thermostats, smart doorbells, smart lighting and more.

Brilliant said the installation is easy enough to add a control system to their home specifically those people that live in older homes without neutral or ground wires. The smart home control panel also works in apartment residents that can’t access electrical panel to shut off power to perform installation. Lastly, those homeowners uncomfortable with swapping out a light switch for a control panel or hardwiring a panel into an electrical box.

The plug-in panel can be mounted to any wall using screws and includes a power cable and adapter that plugs into any power outlet. The cable can be routed on the wall’s surface or hidden from view with an in-wall installation.

The plug-in panel features smart home specific touchscreen menus, built-in voice control, customized home automation scenes, programmable touch sliders/switchers and a single app for overall home control. The Brillian smart home hub works with products from:

Additionally, the Brilliant home panel functions as a home lighting system with built-in motion detection that can be expanded with smart dimmer switches and smart plugs as well as an audio/video intercom system to communicate with other in different rooms. It also has built in Amazon Alexa voice control with visual responses and integrates Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit/Siri.
