Electronic Design Automation (EDA) giant Synopsys Inc. has extended its Synopsys.ai full-stack suite of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data analytics.
The software is geared toward every stage of semiconductor development for insight and optimization that will drive improvements across exploration, design, manufacturing and testing processes. The solution is used to curate and operationalize magnitudes of multi-domain data to accelerate root-cause analysis and achieve manufacturing and test quality.
The AI-driven Synopsys EDA data analytics include:
- Synopsys Design.da
- Synopsys Fab.da
- Synopsys Silicon.da
Design.da is used to perform deep analysis of data for chip designers to uncover power, performance and area (PPA) opportunities.
Fab.da is used to store and analyze large streams of fab equipment process control data to increase operational efficiencies.
Silicon.da collects petabytes of silicon monitor, diagnostic and production test data from test equipment that will improve chip production metrics like quality, yield and throughput.
Synopsys said EDA, testing and chip fabrication tools generate vast amounts of design data like timing paths, power profiles, die pass/fail reports, process control or verification coverage metrics. The full-stack AI-data suite will allow users to leverage this data, productivity, PPA and parametric/manufacturing yield.
Combining the full-stack EDA software with big data provides multi-domain data aggregation and curation through AI-driven flows and methodologies for significant productivity gains, the company said.
The EDA technology also allows IC designers to localize and correct problem areas throughout mask, fabrication and test processes before it could impact product quality and yield. Generative AI methods also enables new use cases such as knowledge assistants, pre-emptive and prescriptive what-if exploration and guided issue resolution, Synopsys said.
