Video: First biological, air-conduction earbuds debuts on Kickstarter

25 July 2023

Rolling Square has launched a Kickstarter campaign for what it claims is the first biological, air-conduction earbuds that offer built-in surround sound for the ears.

Called Hyphen Aria, the earbuds are designed to prevent premature hearing aging and mimic natural listening, the company said. Rolling Square said it offers users zero pressure on the eardrum and ear canal by eliminating contact with the ear. This also prevents the accumulation of bacteria or earwax.

The 14.8 mm custom earbud design delivers deep bass and ultra-details high frequencies and creates a surround sound-like effect that blends into the environment.

Other features include:

  • Gravity hook design
  • Touch and slide controls
  • Environmental noise cancellation
  • Wireless charging
  • 33-hour total playtime
  • 15-minute charge time

Hyphen Aria’s smart EQW algorithm automatically enhances bass and limits high frequencies at low volume to enjoy voice and music at consistent audio safely, Rolling Square said.

Rolling Square said by 2050 it is estimated that more than 2.5 billion people will suffer hearing loss due to the use of traditional earbuds and headphones. The gravity hook design reduces the contact area with the ear and comes in three sizes and is anatomically compatible to personalize a fit for each user.
