Siemens Digital Industries Software’s simulator-independent Questa Verification intellectual property now supports Compute Express Link (CXL) 3.0 protocol for HPC applications.
CXL 3.0 is based on the peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) networking protocol that allows for rapid transfer of data between cloud computing services and smart connected devices globally.
The protocol has gained traction recently with the introduction of memory solutions from SK Hynix with its DDR5 DRAM-based CXL memory and smart memory controllers from Microchip.
The verification IP for CXL 3.0 integrates into advanced verification environments on any simulator and helps engineers looking to incorporate CXL 3.0 protocol into next-generation designs. Additionally, the software allows for flexibility for the verification of block-level, subsystem and system-on-chip designs.
Siemens said the Questa Verification IP software supports detailed functional verification across all layers of the CXL 3.0 specification and includes ready-to-use verification components to help increase productivity and accelerate verification signoff.
The electronic design automation software is being offered for early adopters of the CXL 3.0 protocol to help with new designs and differentiate designs in the HPC markets globally, the company said.
