Teledyne LeCroy has rolled out what it claims is the first traffic generator and emulator for PCI Express 5.0 and Compute Express Link.
The Summit Z516 tests high-speed device and system designs providing 32 GT/s traffic generation on devices with link widths up to 16 lanes. Emulation is used for validation of devices and systems in high performance computing. The generator allows for PCIe 5.0 device testing by generating flits on the flex bus within the link and transaction layers to support traffic generation and device/host emulation at all layers.
The device helps validate CXL-based systems — a new high-speed CPU-to-device and CPU-to-member interconnect for data centers — maintaining memory coherency between CPU memory space and memory on attached devices. This gives more resource sharing for high performance, low latency and reduced software stack complexity, Teledyne said.
The Summit Z516 joins Teledyne LeCroy’s other line of analyzers and exercisers for validation and stress testing of PCIe and CXL technologies including the Z58, M5x and T54
