Beginning in 2025, all new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles will be outfitted with the Nvidia Drive software-defined platform under a new agreement between Jaguar Land Rover and Nvidia Corp.
Under the deal, Jaguar Land Rover and Nvidia will jointly develop and deliver automated driving systems plus artificial intelligence-enabled services and experiences for future vehicles.
Part of the automated systems will include automated parking systems as well as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Inside Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will include driver and occupant monitoring and visualization of the vehicle’s environment.
The technology will be based on Nvidia’s Drive Hyperion, which includes the Drive Orin centralized autonomous vehicle CPU, Drive AV and Drive IX software, surround sensors and networking systems. Drive Orin will be the main component for running Jaguar Land Rover operating systems.
Jaguar will also use in-house developed data center solutions with Nvidia’s DGX for training AI models and Drive Sim software built on Nvidia Omniverse. The software features end-to-end verification and validation architecture with delivery of assisted and automated driving services through the life of the vehicle via over-the-air software updates.
“Next-generation cars will transform automotive into one of the largest and most advanced technology industries,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia. “Fleets of software defined, programmable cars will offer new functionalities and services for the life of the vehicles.”
