The VOICE Developer Conference, an annual event presented by semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation, is going virtual this year. Running June 21-23, 2021, the program will feature learning opportunities for attendees, including more than 70 presentations organized across eight topical tracks. There will also be a Technology Kiosk Showcase with both live presentations and virtual booths featuring test solutions, and a virtual Partners’ Expo highlighting innovative semiconductor test solutions.
Following the Virtual VOICE 2021 conference, a Workshop Day will be held on June 24, offering deep-dive learning opportunities in concurrent sessions covering 5G/mmWave technology, ACS Edge Machine Learning and High Performance Computation device testing.
VOICE is billed as a “developer conference created by test engineers, for test engineers,” and is the leading conference for an international community of users and strategic partners involved with Advantest’s V93000 and T2000 SoC test platforms, as well as other Advantest products including memory testers, handlers and test cell solutions.
Keynote speakers for this year’s conference are Dr. Kate Darling, a social robotics expert and MIT Media Lab research specialist; and Fredi Lajvardi, vice president of STEM initiatives at Si Se Puede Foundation. Darling’s work explores the emotional connection between people and lifelike machines, seeking to influence technology design and policy direction.
According to Advantest, VOICE unites test professionals representing leading integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), foundries, fabless semiconductor companies and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) providers, enabling the exchange of information on technology advancements, expression of new ideas, sharing of best practices and networking. It is designed to offer “a unique opportunity to take part in making semiconductor operations as efficient and cost-effective as possible.”
The decision to move to a virtual format in the face of continuing health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced in mid-February. The virtual program will follow a format similar to the traditional in-person event, with a comprehensive technical program focused on leading-edge technologies and future trends. Advantest has stated that it is committed to holding VOICE 2022 in person at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, a luxurious desert retreat located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
