Test equipment vendor Advantest has opened two innovation centers, one located on the company’s San Jose, California campus and another under construction at its Sunnyvale, California, site.
The innovation centers are designed to enable collaboration with partners in the semiconductor ecosystem to accelerate the development of test solutions for next-generation chip technologies.
Advantest said the innovation centers include:
- Laboratories
- Clean rooms
- Latest test technologies and equipment
- Test insertions for packaging and device architectures
The company said that partnering in early development allows partners to build long-term roadmaps and align R&D efforts. These collaborations will support future needs for edge AI, high-performance computing and other emerging sectors.
“These innovation centers represent a major milestone in how we work with our partners to drive innovation,” said Kotaro Hasegawa, senior VP of the New Research Platform Initiative at Advantest. “Cross-industry collaboration is a critical step in accelerating innovation for high-performance computing and edge AI applications, as advanced packaging and increasingly complex device architectures demand new approaches to test.”
The San Jose facility is open now while the Sunnyvale location is slated to open later in the summer of 2026.
