GE Lighting, a division of Savant Systems, will have a busy all-digital CES 2021 as the company plans to not only introduce new smart lighting solutions for the home, but to also undergo a rebranding.
GE Lighting’s smart home products and app will be relabeled as Cync, powered by Savant. The new mobile app will be rolled out in March to control both the smart home brand of products as well as the connected products outside the lighting space. The app will work with both GE Lighting and Cync products.
Expansion of products
Cync will also introduce a new smart plug that allows consumers to control two outlets from the Cync app or with voice through Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. The plug can be used for anything from pathway lights, to pools, fountains and more. The plug, scheduled to be launched in March, is weather resistant and includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Additionally, Savant plans to introduce a new indoor camera to be launched in May that will offer privacy shutter, a cover that surrounds the front lens, slides upwards and locks in place to physically cover the lens and turn off the audio when consumers want to shut it off. The camera includes a micro-SD card port to save data as well as a subscription service for cloud storage.
The Cync Fan Speed Smart Switch will be expanded to control ceiling fans and other fans throughout a home, without the need of a separate hub. Savant plans to introduce the switch in June.
