Source: ZenitPump manufacturer Zenit has developed a new model of its GRG shredding pump.
The next-generation GRG shredding pump is designed for both residential and small industrial or civil plant facilities where the pumps encounter high concentrations of both solids and fibers. As such, Zenit developed a highly reliable submersible with motors from 1.1 kW to 7.5 kW, a double mechanical seal in the oil chamber and a cast iron housing.
Setting the new GRG model apart from its predecessors is its redesigned cutting mechanism that contains a plate with sharp-edged holes and a shaving, rotating knife that attaches to the pump’s impeller. As the impeller rotates, it creates a vacuum that draws liquid to the pump’s suction port and through the sharp-edged holes of the plate and into the shredding system. This design, according to its developers ensures that the solid contents in wastewater can be finely shredded, ensuring the material does not clog the motor.
