Video: Amphenol’s fiber panel supports 192 LC connections

06 August 2026

With data centers fighting for every inch of rack space, any chance to support more connections in the same area is something hyperscalers are jumping at.

That’s what Amphenol Network Solutions is touting with the launch of its Pivot fiber distribution panel, which supports 192 LC connections.

The company said data center sophistication requires more fiber connections, which is straining traditional high-density fiber panels that cap out at 144 LC connections per rack. This often means that additional rack space is needed once hyperscalers scale the amount of processing power inside each rack.

Amphenol said the Pivot system fits more fiber into a compact 1 RU panel in a mid-plane connector architecture that is accessible through a pivoting front module. This allows the front row to pivot down, exposing the center row to give data center crews access for inspection, cleaning and mating without disturbing adjacent circuits.

Additionally, each module is mounted on a sliding service tray to improve access in dense rack environments, the company said.

Features include:

  • 192 LC connections or 96 MPO ports in 1 RU
  • 24 400 G/800 G circuits per 1 RU
  • Up to 25% rack space savings
  • Pivot-and-slide access for Day-2 maintenance
  • Support for Base-8, very small form factor (VSFF), 400 G/800 G, 1.6 T and 3.2 T architectures

Amphenol said that beyond data centers, the Pivot system works for telecom central offices, breakout applications and high-density aggregation environments.
