Lewa's bi-directional smart glasses connect a service technician through shared vision to see the plant through the eyes of the on-site technician when a malfunction occurs. Source: LewaWorldwide pump manufacturer Lewa announced that their recently launched visualization app now includes two more pump models and new augmented reality (AR) glasses for training.
The app, which was designed to mimic pump malfunctions, depicts a virtual model of the Ecoflow pump in its entirety along with malfunctions in the operational sequence that are simulated for training scenarios.
At Hannover Messe 2020, one of the world's largest industrial trade fairs held in Germany from April 20 through April 24, the company plans to debut the extended app, which includes two additional pump models: the Nikkiso Non-Seal canned motor pump and the Lewa triplex, which features a visible crank drive in a mono-block design as well as a homogenization valve.
Lewa is also preparing to debut its bi-directional smart glasses at Hannover Messe. Using the smart glasses, a service technician can connect through shared vision to view a facility through the eyes of an on-site technician when a malfunction occurs. The service technician will instruct the wearer with verbal directions or use the glasses to demonstrate the on-site technician instructions for action, documents and drawings. The smart glasses are certified for ATEX zones and they operate via voice control.
