Computer giant Lenovo has rolled out what it claims is the world’s first 5G laptop, a PC that can download files instantly or stream video in seconds in full HD.

The Lenovo Yoga 5G laptop supports both millimeter wave (mmWave) full band and sub-6 Ghz 5G networks and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G compute platform.

5G is the next generation cellular technology that boasts speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G speeds, higher bandwidth and low latency for applications such as augmented and virtual reality as well as video editing and mobile gaming.

Lenovo said the Yoga 5G laptop can experience download speeds of about 4 Gb/sec supported by nine built-in antennas for a strong signal.

The laptop includes a hands-free infrared camera, an integrated fingerprint reader to log in and will last up to 24 hours on a single battery charge. The 14 in full HD IPS touch display offers 400 nits brightness with narrow bezels on all sides, the Qualcomm Adreno 680 graphics card and user-facing stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos for entertainment.
