At Semicon West 2026, Junkosha demonstrated its latest 1 mm pitch configuration of its application-specific cable for semiconductor equipment vendors.
The Super Low Outgassing Cable portfolio is a collaboration of Junkosha with semiconductor equipment makers. Junkosha said chip equipment vendors have specific requirements for ultra-high vacuum chambers because space can be extremely limited, and with moving parts in the system a cable that is only marginally wider than standard design can create challenges for equipment vendors.
The 1 mm pitch configuration of the cable was engineered for high vacuum environments to minimize the need to redesign equipment, Junkosha said. Under testing, the cables have a 30 million cycle lifespan at a 70 mm bending radius. It was also tested in collaboration with equipment vendors to support durability data for repeated motion applications, the company added.
“Developing the 1 mm cable construction was driven by a clear customer need,” said Jason Davis, new business development at Junkosha. “By combining the ability to manufacture narrower cable construction with application-specific engineering support, lower volume production capability and collaborative testing, Junkosha aims to make it easier for customers to evaluate an alternative cable source while minimizing disruption to established equipment designs.”
Semicon West 2026 takes place this week in San Francisco, California.
