Chinese device maker Xiaomi has introduced its second 5G mobile phone designed for use in mainland China.
The Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphone will be available from Chinese telecoms China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Xiaomi said it tested the download speed of the phone in the lab and achieved 2.02 Gbps but in a field test managed 1.78 Gbps.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ along with the Adreno 640 processor for graphics, 12 GB of memory, 512 GB of storage and a 6.39 in AMOLED FHD+ dot drop display.
The smartphone supports 30 W fast wireless charging and high-power 10 W wireless reverse charging allowing a 4,000 mAh battery to be charged to 100% in about 70 minutes, Xiaomi said.
The Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphone is the latest in a series of phones that have been released following the introduction of 5G services earlier this year. These are likely to be the first of many phones released on the market in the next few years especially once 5G coverage is expanded to more cities.
