6G AI infrastructure revenue surging to $97.6B by 2034

28 October 2026

As AI becomes increasingly embedded across radios, basebands and core infrastructure for the next-generation wireless standard 6G, global 6G AI infrastructure revenue is forecast to grow to $97.62 billion in 2034, up from just $3.76 billion in 2029, according to new data from ABI Research.

This reflects a 92% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) during the forecast period.

"6G will not be monetized simply by offering faster networks," said Sam Bowling, industry analyst at ABI Research. "The real commercial opportunity is in turning network capabilities into services enterprises can clearly value, whether that means charging for network APIs, metering edge inference, or bundling connectivity, compute, and sensing around uptime, efficiency, and operational performance."

5 revenue opportunities

The market research firm said that the larger enterprise revenue opportunity is less about performance gains and more about how operators monetize 6G infrastructure beyond connectivity. Potential revenue streams include:

  • Network APIs
  • Metered edge inference
  • Bundled connectivity and compute
  • Differentiated quality of service (QoS)
  • Usage-based pricing

These 6G infrastructure investments will support AI-driven network automation, optimization and inference, but their return will ultimately depend on applications, software and services built on top of the infrastructure, ABI Research said.

"Operators should use 5G-Advanced as the commercial testbed for 6G rather than waiting for the next generation to arrive," Bowling added. "The winners will be those that use today's platforms to test differentiated QoS, API-based services, edge capabilities, and usage-based pricing, while also putting the right compute economics and partnership safeguards in place before AI infrastructure costs compress margins."
