Source: CNW Group/ImmplayA smart, interactive plush toy from learning and entertainment tech company Immplay has been named a CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree, an award given for outstanding product design and engineering in brand-new consumer technology products.
The plush bear companion, called Snow Shine, interacts with preschoolers and families through original songs, stories and games. It also helps establish daily routines, healthy habits and effective sleep time practices.
Despite the fact that Snow Shine can interface with multiple inputs, including Spotify, YouTube and Alexa, it does not connect directly to the internet and cannot collect any information, a potential selling point for parents concerned about safety.
The toy was developed over a decade of Immplay collaboration with Harvard researchers and the entrepreneurial organization Endeavor. An earlier version was awarded 2015 Toy of the Year in France. Global distributor Jay@Play is bringing the current incarnation to market under an exclusive licensing agreement.
