Control4 has introduced a new smart home technology called Intercom Anywhere, which allows homeowners to receive video intercom calls whether they are at home or away.
The system enables users to see and communicate with visitors at the front door or gate, or see who is at the door prior to answering a call and can activate home scenes such as turning on lights, opening the gate or unlocking the door or garage.
Alerts are sent to homeowners via a new app for iOS and Android mobile devices and allows users to sound an alarm, lock all doors or toggle interior or exterior lighting.
Control4 said the Intercom Anywhere app gives users the ability to receive video previews for the front door so they can ignore unwanted visitors, answer calls from welcome guests or accept a delivery even miles away.
Family members can make calls from Control4 touch screens inside the home to another family member’s mobile phone or vice versa. It can also broadcast voice messages throughout the house to call family members to dinner or ask them to perform a task.
