Honeywell first showed its smart home security system at the most recent CES 2018 and later the company offered early access to the technology through Indiegogo’s Enterprise Crowdfunding service.
Now the company is offering the system online and in select retail stores nationwide.
The all-in-one smart home system is self-installed, easy to install and allows for awareness of what’s happening in and around a consumer’s home, Honeywell said. Amazon Alexa is built into the device and it can be upgraded or customized with accessories that a consumer needs in their household.
The smart home security system includes a camera base station with an integrated 1080p wide-angle HD camera capable of night vision and 145-degree viewing. The camera comes equipped with facial recognition with mobile app notifications so you can view when a delivery person is at the door, a child comes home or another service person has arrived.
Voice control is included in the base station via a speaker and microphone array built into the device, but the system can also be controlled through the Honeywell Home app and can serve as a home automation hub to control other connected Z-Wave devices in the home.
Accessories that can be added to the security system include door and window contact sensors, indoor motion sensor to alert for movement, and indoor and outdoor motion views that can also alert for movement and record short video clips.
