One of the bigger trends happening in the semiconductor equipment market is the move to enable cloud-based services for chip manufacturers.
In an effort to accelerate verification’s move into the cloud, Metrics Technologies has signed a long-term, far-reaching partnership with Test and Verification Technologies (T&VS) to further adopt Metrics’ true cloud solution.
Under the agreement, T&VS will have access to Metrics’ Open Platform to manage and leverage big simulation data for global verification projects. The company will use the cloud for internal and client projects, matching simulation requirements on Google Cloud.
“[Metrics] is offering something verification groups desperately need — unlimited on-demand simulation in the cloud that scales to infinite test application, leveraging big simulation data across massive regression environments,” said Mike Bartley, CEO of T&VS.
The Metrics Cloud Simulator and Verification Manager is a pay-by-the-minute software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that improves resource utilization and engineering productivity. The software has unlimited capacity and elasticity to scale with variable demand. Metrics said the simulation resources are dynamically adjusted up or down every minute without the need to purchase additional hardware or licenses, or manage disk space.
Metrics will demonstrate its cloud-based software offerings at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) being held at Moscone Center West in San Francisco on June 25-27.
