Convection-cooled modular power supply series CoolX600 comes with medical safety approvals. Also, for medical applications, CoolX600 is fully safety certified to IEC60601-1 3rd edition and IEC60601-1-2 4th edition (EMC). Other key medical features include BF (body floating) rating, dual fusing, 2 × MOPP (means of patient protection) isolation, and < 300 µA leakage current. With 4 kV input surge immunity and the ability to withstand input voltages of up to 300 VAC, the CoolX600 is tailored for use in remote locations and systems subject to input voltage disturbances. Consequently, target medical applications include medical clinical diagnostic equipment, medical lasers, dialysis equipment, imaging and clinical chemistry. Also, not having a fan makes it suitable for audible noise-sensitive applications.
The CoolX600 AC/DC converter has been designed to meet a variety of global safety and regulatory requirements, including the 5,000-meter altitude operation. Offering a number of features with compliance to emerging standards, such as EN60601-1-2 4th edition, the CoolX600 is future-proofed to meet high-reliability medical electronics applications, said Excelsys.
To offer flexibility, the CoolX600 can be populated with up to four CoolMods to provide up to four isolated DC outputs ranging from 2.5 V to 58 V. Furthermore the outputs can be configured to the required set point voltages and can be connected in parallel or series for higher output current and/or higher output voltages. It also enables analog and digital management with optional PMBus monitoring and control capability, and is user-field-configurable with plug-and-play power. Excelsys offers a five-year warranty for the unit, and the mounting options include base, side and DIN-rail mounting.
