LED Lighting Comes to Musical Instruments

18 August 2016

Fretlord Musical Instrument Lighting Systems Inc. has introduced a USB-rechargeable, selectable color musical instrument light-emitting diode (LED) accessory to enhance stage performances.

The Spectrus LED illumination accessory attaches to the instrument's body or headstock and projects LED light on the point of contact. Kev Sciortino, CEO of Fretlord, says the LED lighting allows musicians to see hand position in dark environments and provides relief for those that play instruments with night- vision problems or wear glasses.

A three-hour recharge can provide up to 10 hours of usable light. It also comes with three modes to select any color from the available color pallet.

The LED lighting accessory can be used for a range of instruments from guitars, to horns, to drums. The lighting allows for benefits in venues where there is no stage lighting or when performing in an orchestra pit or in dark rehearsal spaces, Fretlord says. Spectrus retails for about $49.99.
