1NCE has added Netmore’s long range wide area network (LoRaWAN) server plugin to its operating system allowing users to access both cellular and LoRaWAN connectivity for internet of things (IoT) devices.
The network will address 90% of the low power wide area network (LPWAN) market eliminating coverage blind spots globally. This is forecasted to happen by 2028 with the combined cellular LPWAN and LoRaWAN coverage.
The collaboration expands offerings from two of the biggest massive IoT network vendors, operating IoT in more than 170 countries and regions.
Combining cellular and LoRaWAN technology will provide a layer of redundancy to cover the hardest to reach spots with reliable connectivity and IoT services. The combined connectivity will allow users to manage both technologies through 1NCE’s platform.
Use cases for the hybrid LPWAN solution include:
- Smart cities
- Street lighting
- Logistics
- Smart metering
- Other utility applications
One such solution is from Abeeway, a Netmore subsidiary, a multi-mode tracker that integrates cellular and LoRaWAN for low-power, long-range use cases.
“[The hybrid solution] delivers reliable, uninterrupted connectivity in even the most challenging environments, allowing logistics, supply chain, and asset monitoring customers to achieve greater visibility and efficiency at scale,” said Andreas Eriksson, executive director at Abeeway.
