Massive internet of things (IoT) operator Netmore Group has agreed to take control of the commercial operations of the LoRaWAN network operated in Brazil by American Tower Corp. (ATC).
Netmore will assume control over ATC’s customer base, network management and service delivery to provide carrier-grade IoT connectivity to users.
The move comes after Netmore’s acquisition of Everynet in Brazil, a company that partnered with ATC to deliver LoRaWAN connectivity. With a combination of Everynet and ATC’s assets, Netmore said plans to apply these technologies for massive-scale projects to the region include:
- Water and gas metering
- Agriculture
- Transportation and logistics
- Smart cities
- Other IoT use cases
“Brazil represents a dynamic and fast-growing market for IoT solutions, and this expansion of Netmore’s operations enhances our ability to meet rising regional demand for digital transformation and sustainability-focused initiatives,” said Ove Anebygd, CEO of Netmore Group. “Our ongoing investments in building and densifying regional network infrastructure, combined with establishing local operations, emphasizes Netmore’s commitment to delivering global IoT connectivity with a local customer-centric focus.”
Latin America IoT rising
Netmore said the expansion in Brazil is another step in the evolution of IoT network connectivity in the Latin America region.
The company said the region has numerous initiatives that makes IoT networks attractive along with rising digital transformation regulation efforts.
Netmore supports the adoption of industrial and municipal IoT solutions at scale with the deployment of multi-layer architecture deployments like mid-range tower deployments in dense urban environments.
This provides network stability and densification in key Latin America regions for carrier-grade performance in LoRaWAN operations, the company said.
