Portable LED Golden Sample Generator: Productronica 2025 premiere

11 November 2025

The expansion of LED technology has transformed entire industries — from automotive and consumer electronics to industrial instrumentation. However, this diversity of applications has brought a growing challenge: ensuring reliable and precise calibration of LED test systems, particularly in PCB lighting production lines.

To address this need, EIIT — a Controlar company, in collaboration with Teradyne’s Production Board Test Division, has developed the Portable LED Golden Sample Generator — a tool designed to enhance precision and traceability in optical test processes.

This portable generator reproduces a calibrated LED reference (Golden Sample) used to adjust, compare and verify the performance of test equipment. Its key strength lies in portability and ease of integration, as it can be used in both laboratory and automated production environments without complex setup or external calibration requirements.

For test engineers, it offers a clear advantage: it enables measurement accuracy verification within seconds, reducing validation time and ensuring that each LED test system operates within controlled and repeatable parameters.

Developed jointly with Teradyne, the device is fully compatible with In-Circuit Test (ICT) platforms and Industry 4.0 environments, where traceability and reliability are essential.

The result is a lightweight, precise and easily transportable solution that redefines how LED test systems are calibrated.

A tool designed by and for engineers, combining metrological precision, ease of use and industrial robustness, reinforcing EIIT’s commitment to practical innovation in electronic testing.

See it live at Productronica 2025

Visitors can experience the Portable LED Golden Sample Generator in action at Controlar’s stand A1.335/9 where live demonstrations will showcase its dual gripper automation and parallel testing capabilities.
