Ansys, now part of Synopsys, and Nvidia have signed an agreement that will see Nvidia’s Omniverse technology embedded into Ansys’ simulation tools.

By integrating the technology, the collaboration will help with next-generation solutions like 6G connectivity, autonomous vehicles and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).

Ansys said it uses Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) to integrate with Omniverse technologies that allow customers to use Omniverse directly from Ansys’ interface.

Under the agreement, interoperability between computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools is seamless and visualizing fluid dynamics in physical based digital environments is possible, Ansys said. This allows engineers to analyze complex datasets more intuitively, resulting in smarter, faster design optimization for engineering tasks.

"Product development processes are only getting more complex, so modern teams need a virtual environment that allows them to simulate, visualize, iterate, and collaborate," said Walt Hearn, senior vice president of worldwide sales and customer excellence at Synopsys. "By integrating advanced Omniverse technologies and libraries, our customers drive innovation in simulation-led workflows, empowering teams to achieve greater efficiency, performance, and scalability."

The integration allows for high-fidelity outputs to allow engineers to develop, train, test and validate autonomous systems faster. By automating scenario generation and exploration, these autonomous systems are continuously validated for:

  • Safety
  • Precision
  • Efficiency
  • Reliability
