The smart home has evolved substantially from the early days when it was smart speakers and maybe a thermostat or camera here or there.

Now, smart home devices run the gamut of anything from moisture monitors to full control over the home’s environmental conditions and accurate monitoring of energy in the form of smart outlets and meters.

That’s where the Eve Energy outlet and power meter comes into play. This device allows users to turn on or off devices with a single tap or with voice control. Homeowners can control the devices plugged into the outlet via smartphone in case a light was left on or a fan needs to be turned on to cool a room before a user comes home.

TechInsights did a deep dive into the smart home outlet and here are the highlights.
