Streaming consumer devices have come a long way from the early days of Google, Amazon and Roku’s streaming sticks.

These devices are now top-of-the-line devices that include 4K resolution support as well as memory to support the storing of streamed services as well as operate more efficiently. Whereas the original Chromecast was just a streaming device, modern devices are faster, control more options, have smart home control, come with a remote and have all stream options on one screen.

Call it a central streaming device rather than having to open multiple apps to get what you want.

Google’s TV Streamer 4K is one such device that came out last year with support for a one-screen-to-rule-them-all approach as well as support for 4K resolutions.

Powered by MediaTek’s 1.8 GHz quad-core multimedia processor and 4 GB LPDDR4 SDRAM, the following is a partial deep dive into the streaming device conducted by TechInsights.
