CES 2025: AI tool debuts for smart residential energy management

08 January 2025

Energy solutions developer EcoFlow unveiled OASIS, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered system designed to optimize energy consumption and storage in the residential market, at CES 2025.

The platform uses AI algorithms to analyze various data streams including real-time energy usage, electricity pricing and solar generation. According to the company, this constant analysis allows the system to provide homeowners with data-driven recommendations for reducing energy costs and maximizing efficiency.

OASIS identifies optimal times to charge batteries based on time-of-use electricity rates and predicts upcoming energy needs based on historical consumption patterns. It can also help adjust energy consumption by shifting appliance operation to off-peak hours or prioritizing the use of stored solar power.

The system also incorporates weather data to provide storm alerts and proactively prepare for potential power outages by adjusting energy usage and ensuring batteries are adequately charged. A built-in smart assistant relies on OpenAI's large language models to answer user questions about energy consumption and provide personalized recommendations.

At the Las Vegas, Nevada, event, held January 7 through January 10, EcoFlow also provided early information about Ocean Pro, a grid-tied whole-home solar battery solution similar to its European-only PowerOcean system. Ocean Pro will be fully compatible with OASIS, geared toward higher-capacity systems.
