Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT) has completed the interior of its first hyperloop passenger capsule.
The interior represents months of collaboration between HyperloopTT and Icona Design group. The unveiling took place in Shanghai, China, and the interior will be installed in the company’s first commercial passenger prototype system.
The cabin includes an artificial skylight, advanced air purification system, interactive displays, digital wayfinding, personal tablets and biometric sensors.
The artificial skylight features daytime and nighttime modes that can fill the cabin with natural lighting. The air purifiers keep the environment free of microbes, viruses and bacteria.
Once a passenger is seated, they can access personalized sound through headrest speakers with ambient noise-canceling technology. The seats also include adjustable micro-climate controls, a camera for facial recognition, touchscreen tablet and wireless charging. Additionally, passengers can mirror personal devices and pair in-capsule displays with personal data through biometric identification.
When completed, the capsule will fit up to 30 passengers and includes accommodations for assisted travelers. There is personalized space, a lounge area in the middle of the cabin and amenities for luggage compartments, snack bar and lavatory.
