Imagination’s GPU to be integrated into TI’s Jacinto processors

05 November 2020

Imagination Technologies’ BXS-4-64 graphics processor will be included in Texas Instruments’ Jacinto processor families designed to work in automotive applications.

Imagination said the GPU offers a 60% higher performance for automotive graphics applications such as surround view technology.

The BXS GPU conforms to ISO 26262 to help customers achieve ISO 26262 certification. The GPU includes Imagination’s B-series multi-core architecture that incorporates hardware virtualization and safety mechanisms such as tile region protection.

TI said integrating the BXS GPU will help TI to introduce differentiated automotive processors with higher performance, lower bandwidth and enhanced safety capabilities. The multi-core technology will help TI to scale the technology for future processor designs, the company said.
