Luminook Lighting at this week’s CES 2020 will introduce a thin light emitting diode (LED) light strip that can mount to an entire indoor door frame of a space or tucked behind a door to hide it from view.
The Luminook control module houses a removable battery pack and advanced sensors and it installs inside a closet at the base of the door trim, hidden from view. The battery pack charges via USB and will last a month with average use.
The company’s beyond motion detection means the light is only on when it needs to be and never turns off while the user is standing in the doorway. The lighting is customizable using the connected smartphone app, compatible with both iOS and Android, allowing users to adjust the color temperature of the light from warm yellow to cool white or to select a different color temperature for different times of the day.
The lighting can be set to turn on when a user gets near. The lighting also works on all types and sizes of doors up to 72 in wide. It also comes with an optional adapter kit to power the system in an existing light socket. Finally, there is a do not disturb mode that allows access to the space without light coming on, to avoid sleep disruption.
“As a whole, the lighting industry does not provide an effective solution to illuminate enclosed spaces such as closets and pantries properly,” said Chris Stubbs, founder and CEO of Luminook Lighting. “We noticed this gap in the market and filled it with Luminook, which provides any small space with vivid, shadow-free light. Users will be amazed at how different the dark corners of their closets look with Luminook.”
