Although Yokogawa is a broad-ranging corporation comprised of over 100 companies, precision instruments for testing is its primary focus at APEC 2019, the applied power electronics conference running March 17-21, 2019, in Anaheim, California.
According to the company, these include advancements and solutions in electric signal and power measurements, with products including multi-function ScopeCorders and high-end power analyzers.
A ScopeCorder is a data acquisition recorder that combines features of a multi-channel digital oscilloscope and an oscillographic recorder, giving it the ability to capture and analyze both short-term transient events and long-term trends for periods up to 200 days. Power analyzers, by contrast, transcend the limitations of data acquisition and oscilloscope-based tools by taking into account numerous complex factors that can make it challenging to produce accurate power measurements.
One of the latter, the company’s recently announced WT5000, also will be the focus of a forum session at APEC called “The Next Generation in Power Measurement.” The device can be utilized for both electrical and mechanical power and efficiency measurements. Applications include motor and drive development, renewable energy and inductive charging.
