Premier Farnell, a division of Avnet Inc., has added Purrmetrix to its portfolio of data logging sensors.
The Purrmetrix devices do not require someone to collect or download data from the sensors, and the data is transmitted live to the Purrmetrix web service. The data logging sensors and gateways allow users to measure, log and analyze environmental variables including temperature, humidity, CO2 and occupancy. This allows users to build devices that affect anything from a greenhouse to an estate. Premier Farnell said the sensors are also suitable for industries such as facilities management, energy management, data centers, social housing and agriculture.
Purrmetrix allows up to 200 small, lightweight sensors to connect wirelessly to the Purrmetrix gateway, which sends data in real-time to the Purrmetrix servers. The flexible system allows users to position the sensors where they are needed and an array of analytical templates, including heat maps and waterfalls, allow users to see the information graphically, in real-time or to replay conditions over any timescale chosen.
The data that is received in real time can be used for constant monitoring, reporting, recording, analyzing and activating. The data can be linked to email alerts and exported from the system via an API to other cloud-based services.
