Taoglas, a provider of IoT and M2M antenna and RF solutions, has announced that its FXP830 Freedom antenna by will be incorporated into the Lighthouse next-generation intelligent home security and monitoring device.
Lighthouse is a Wi-Fi interactive assistant featuring a camera and sensing platform powered by artificial intelligence. It utilizes the cloud-based Lighthouse Intelligence Service platform to provide a homeowner with real-time monitoring and security alerts, along with access to 30 days of recorded video.
The Taoglas FXP830 Freedom antenna is a dual-band, dipole antenna for a 2.4/4.9-6 gigahertz band, made from poly-flexible material and suitable for narrow space “peel and stick” mounting. It supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
According to Zach Brand, director of hardware at Lighthouse, ease of installation and provisioning was critical in selecting an antenna to be incorporated into their product. “People need to be able to place Lighthouse where it can see the important events in their home — no matter where their Wi-Fi access point is — and just have it always connect,” Brand said. “Our users need that level of trust that the system will work all the time, everywhere in the home. The Taoglas antenna helps us bring that level of certainty to our customers.”
