European fabless semiconductor vendor GreenPeak Technologies’ ICs are being integrated into People Power’s new Smart Home security, energy efficiency and senior lifestyle solutions.
People Power, a developer of cloud and mobile service software, has launched three Smart Home services: Presence Pro Energy that helps control energy directly through a mobile device; Presence Pro Care that helps the elderly and caregivers monitor daily living patterns; and Presence Security, a home- monitoring service with wireless sensors that alert homeowners when something happens when they are not in the residence.
The software services can run on any iOS or Android device and can be integrated into a Smart Home system as free Internet monitoring cameras with video alerts.
Using GreenPeak as its silicon supplier, People Power has been able to create these services that not only provide an open and low-cost residential service, but also one that creates a new stream of revenue for the company in the realm of the Smart Home. GreenPeak’s product portfolio includes a range of IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee ultra-low power ICs. People Power is using GreenPeak’s radio chips for better range, lower cost and reduction in WiFi interference, the company says. Furthermore, the radio ICs allow for the combination of different network and profile layers that can run in parallel.
