Double Robotics, the company that brought us the Double telepresence robot, has just released a brand new, upgraded model – the Double 2. The new Double includes lateral stability control, power drive, and a camera kit, which are designed to increase spatial awareness for the driver and enhance the overall driving experience.
The three new features were added as a result of customer feedback so that more users can operate the robot more efficiently.
Three Upgrades:
- Lateral Stability Control allows drivers to traverse common obstacles without losing balance with a shock absorption mechanism and advanced software algorithm.
- Power Drive allows drivers to operate the robot as speeds 80% faster than previously. Double 2 can reach walking speeds of 1.6 miles per hour, increased from 0.9 miles per hour.
- Camera Kit is a new accessory that includes an attachable camera with a 150-degree wide-angle lens that increases field-of-view by 70% on both sides.
