Q4X Laser Distance Sensor Detects Clear Objects

30 September 2015

The Q4X laser distance sensor from Banner Engineering is available in clear-object detection models. By selecting a default clear object detection mode setting, the Q4X eliminates two-point, dynamic, foreground and background suppression modes and the need for a retro-reflector. Detecting transparent objects in a variety of shapes or angles is problematic for several sensors without additional electronics.

Applications that can use Q4X features include thermal formers, blow molding, bottle filling, bottle handling, shrink-wrap packaging, and bottle, jar or tray detection. It is also used in wet and high-pressure wash-down environments. The Q4X features a bright readout display that can be viewed from multiple vantage points, as well as user-friendly setup via pushbuttons below the display.

The device housing is IP67, IP68 or IP69K rated.
