Intel Management Shake-Up

03 July 2015

Intel Corp. has announced that president of the microprocessor giant, Renée James, will be stepping down in January 2016 in order to pursue a chief executiveRenee JamesRenee James position elsewhere.

However, James’ decision to leave the company is not the only one as long-time Intel Capital chief, Arvind Sodhani, will also be leaving in January, choosing to retire after a 35-year career with the company. Wendell Brooks, president of mergers and acquisitions at Intel, will take on an expanded role to become the president of Intel Capital merging both teams under one leader.

Other internal moves include:

  • The integration of the independent McAfee division into Intel Security organization under general manager Chris Young.
  • Aicha Evans, GM of the Communication and Devices Group at Intel, has been appointed to the company’s management committee.
  • Josh Walden, GM of Intel’s New Technology Group, now leads all product and research teams, such as interactive computing devices, perceptual computing and wearables.
  • As a result of these changes, executives Hermann Eul, who at one point led the company’s mobile device unit, and Mike Bell, who headed up the consumer connected devices and Internet of Things group, will be leaving Intel.
