Kyocera has consolidated two of its North American operations into a single business group.
The company announced as of April 1, it merged the North American sales and technical operations of Kyocera SLC Technologies Corporation (KST) and Kyocera Circuit Solutions USA Inc. into the Organic Products Sales Group of Kyocera America Inc (KAI).
Kyocera has been expanding its business in the printed circuit board (PCB) market with organic packages produced by KST, a wholly-owned subsidiary. KST makes organic flip-chip ball-grid-array substrates used in the packaging of high-end application-specific integrated circuits.
KST expanded its product offerings through the launch of smaller, lower-profile, flip-chip chip-scale packages for the high-volume, high-growth smartphone and mobile computing tablet markets.
Last October, Kyocera Corporation of Japan concluded a share transfer agreement with Toppan Printing Co. Ltd. and NEC Corporation and the PCB manufacturing company NEC Toppan Circuit Solutions Inc. The new company became Kyocera Circuit Solutions Inc (KCS), which has focused its PCB business on motherboards and modules, while recently expanding into extremely low-profile multilayer boards.
Kyocera said that by merging the North American sales and technical service organizations into the Organic Products Sales Group at KAI, the company will enhance its product offerings and contribute to the expansion of organic-based solutions for the industry.
