There is a lot of buzz in the consumer electronics space after rumors of a new Apple Inc. line of smart home devices emerged in August of 2025.
The reports said Apple would be not just coming out with an update to its HomePod but would be introducing a smart doorbell, smart locks and smart cameras.
The home hub is arguably the most interesting aspect of their smart home launch as it will be able to run apps and control smart home devices through an iPad-like unit with a display. Now rumors are swirling that the Apple home hub is still on track and already there are discussions about the price.
What is rumored
The price is reported to be about $350. This looks to be on average with other premium smart home hubs. Although there are plenty of other cheaper smart home hubs, but they tend to have fewer features or capabilities.
There are two versions of the home hub in the works: one designed as a wall-mounted version and the other as a tabletop model.
The features of the home hub reportedly include:
- Speaker base like a HomePod mini
- FaceTime camera for video calls
- Sensors for recognition
- Control of other Apple-related smart home devices
- 7-inch display
- Personalized settings
- Next-generation Siri
The Siri upgrade, according to reports, will supposedly be more conversational and context-aware, which could make it a good match for the Apple home hub.
