Geared for designers to develop smaller, power efficient internet of things (IoT) devices, Japanese chipmaker Murata has unveiled what it claims is the smallest Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54L15 system-on-chip (SoC).
Called Type 2NR, the wireless, multi-protocol module features:
- Long battery life
- Advanced performance
- Simplified design
- Multiple protocol support
This includes BLE 6.0, IEEE 802.15.4, NFC-A tag and Matter over Threat. Additionally, the module includes a built-in antenna with an external option and requires minimal external components.
Other components on the module include:
- 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core
- 256KB RAM
- 1524 KB RRAM
- 32 GPIOs
- PSA certified Level 3 security
- Bluetooth 6 Channel sounding support
The Type 2NR module and evaluation kits are sampling.
