The market for smartwatches has grown substantially since the debut of the Apple Watch with numerous competitors coming into the fold to challenge the iOS product line.

Chinese electronic giant Huawei has been rolling out its own smartwatches for the last few years with the latest iteration, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro, being distributed in September of 2024.

The watch is designed to look like a traditional analog watch but with numerous digital features like smart functionality, sports tracking and health metrics.

Compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems, the company is looking to appeal to all sorts of consumers — those sports enthusiasts as well as those looking for a stylish watch that has smart functionality.

The following is a partial deep dive into the smartwatch conducted by TechInsights.

Main board

Found inside the main board of the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro is the electronic components mostly used for operations of the consumer electronics device. On board are memory components that are unknown to TechInsights as well as no applications processor. The electronic components found on the board include:

  • QST’s three-axis electronic compass
  • STMicroelectronics’ six-axis MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope
  • RichTek’s 3 A buck-boost converter
  • Maxscend’s SPDT RF switch
  • Huaying’s dual SAW filter
  • NXP Semiconductor’s NFC and secure element chip
  • Goodix’s class-D audio amplifier
